The self-teaching, interactive course is based on An Introduction to Medical Terminology for Health Care and Pocket Medical Terminology by Andrew R Hutton produced in Edinburgh by Elsevier Ltd. All twenty-six units are available using either American English or British English medical terms. Each unit contains interactive exercises that enable you to learn and practise: word analysis, matching words and definitions, dictation, spelling and building medical words using prefixes, suffixes and combining forms of roots. You can test your knowledge using flashcards and self-assessment exercises at the end of each unit and there is an optional course exam.
Built into each unit are clear, simple anatomical diagrams and moving animations to enhance your understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body; these enable you to relate medical terms to the human body.
